Computing related technological opportunities in Bangladesh

I know some of you have been in the west and have experienced a lot of technologies that are not currently present in BD. Let's list some of these things that you want to see happen in Bangladesh in near future.

Good idea arnab. I never thought in this line. The programming part should be easy. Main problem is to get the detailed maps of important parts of the country. Do even the statistical bureau have the Aerial maps? I doubt it. But I was thinking, we could start with Dhaka. We need to find out if the municipal corporation could provide us with one.

What kind of features you have in your mind? Refer me to such a service on the net. What do you expect such a service to really do for you?

I have thought some more.

1. There is a right time to do everything. Is it the right time to launch any map-based website in Bangladesh or even in Dhaka?

2. How many people in BD are going to use it? How useful is it going to be?

3. Is the number of users going to grow or decline after the introduction of the site? Is the website going to be a sustained and stable website?

4. When were this type of map search websites introducesd in the western world? Is there a historical model of growth we can follow from the west when we are building or launching this type of website? We need to figure whn is the best time to launch this kind of site, as in "striking the iron when it is hot".

Being and struggling from Bangladesh, I can tell, no it is not time for us (IT companies) to do anything in the web. The number of people from Bangladesh, accessing and actively using the web is very limited. How many 20,000 or 50,000 max. The cyber cafe users go and watch porn sites.

But this is the situation we must improve upon. First we have to build useful things, then make people aware of it and let them know how they can benefit from the web using traditional media. That is why, besides Digital publications Quantumcloud is actively participating in the public medias.
