Post Post subject: Table or CSS for Best web design? Reply with quote

Web designers have been laying out pages after pages of web sites using tables for years. Most web designers are pretty adept in this skill, without any doubts. Being creative with the old fashioned tables: such as using spacer gifs, a web master can pretty much guarantee that his sites will look the same on almost any browser. Tables are what make a web site look so variagated and KOOL. And html tables contribute greatly to the wide popularity of web and internet these days!

But the time has changed. Over the last few years, table based layouts are being misused. Web purists will tell you that tables were never meant for layout so you shouldn’t use them for such. The use and abilities of tables have LIMITATIONS. And so for forward compatibility and maintain a good standard w3.org has come up with CSS. Cascading style sheets. This standard, although little more complex to learn has wider capabilities and extesibility. This makes CSS the choice of formatting option to lay out your web sites. Tables will be replaced by cascading style sheets. Sooner or later. Should we, the web designers stay behind in the race?
