Post Post subject: What is the difference between C and C++ Reply with quote

Hello everyone. I am new here. I am new to programming as well. I have a newbie question for all the gurus out there.

What is the difference between C and C++. Is there anything that you can do with C++ that you cannot do with C? I know as much that C++ is object oriented. But what else? Also C is so old. Why do people still write codes and softwares in C? Are not there better languages already?

Thank you for your response in advance.

Better language than C. Yeah easy to use or develop by draging GI tools. But when it comes to compiling(the complier build in C) or the OS itself, there is no other way than C. Why? casue it's a mid-level language offer both low level and high level programming environment. Produce effecient binary output. Small and flexible. Now a days, C is used in network programming, OS programming, security tools developing. Which are the base of computers, without those tools PC is just a piece of hardware. So, C will always be there. And C++ give you the capability to add object oriented facilities to your code. But when you design core system you don't need OOP capabilities.

It will be better if you search google. There are lot of articles on it.

Thank you for the quick response Dnagkur. I understand that C is better for operating system and network level programming that needs to access the system in very basic level.

I do not need to program in such a deep level. So I will stick to C++ if I ever need to use it.
