Post Post subject: 3D and e-commerce site (like to have feedback) Reply with quote

Hi everyone

Currently I am researching the User experience of 3D environments in e-commerce. (educational and personal interest). I have developed a sort of a 3D site in flash. In order to test the User Experience of this site I have developed some sort of test with an survey connected to it. I am realy anxious to find out some trends regarding this site and topic.

So if you're interested, participate in this test. I am happy to provide you with the outcomes. (it would realy help me a lot) project is located at:

Hi,

I have visited your site. Mainly the 3d section of the shopping cart. And for an ecommerce website it seemed very complicated. The process of buying and checking out is not clear at all. I did not know which buttons to click. And there was no picture of the products. How do you buy a product? I clicked laptop and pc and some pictures come. What to do net? The fonts looked too small too. Did you make the site for 800 by 600 resolution?

Thanks for checking out my site. The idea is to click on pc or laptop (which should be the image of product I understand it needs more detail) from here you can read specifications and place product in cart. if you go to check out you purchase product.

Hi,

I checked your site before. But when I tried to get into the site again today I could not get past the loading part. It was stuck at 17% for some reason. Could be my connection at fault. But the bottom line is with a all in flash site this is a disadvantage. You are forcing the user to have a plug in no matter what and it appears that this plug in can be unreliable. For any other purpose, this would be quite okay I guess. But with a ecommerce site? For such a critical site the basic things should be able to work with all versions and kinds of browsers. Then you can use flash to enhance the experience. That's my opinion.

2ndly, what dude said is true enough. 1st time around I too was unable to complete the buying process. And, I AM an advanced net user, if you allow me to say so. Gentle smile I myself have taken part in creating numerous flash or php and dtatabse driven sites. This indicates that the site is not user friendly. From my memory; the buttons' placements were confusing. I had to hunt for figuring out what to click next. And buttons' titles and descriptions were not helipng much in my hunt either. The entire process needs to be streamlined and consistent. Another thing I remember vaguely is that, the shopping cart's cost estimate needed some innovation from users' part. Well...can't tell you what exactly right now. May be, when I am able to access your site later!
