Photoshop tutorial Creating an Inset line effect photoshop 7

Alright, seems nobody else is daring, let me make a move then. Here is how to create an inset line that are very popular on the web these days.

Step 1. Open photoshop and create a new blank canvas what ever size you would like. Now fill your backgroudn with #CBCBCB.

Step 2. Next, create a new layer and name it Inset. Now grab your photoshop Pencil Tool, and set the size to 1, and set your foreground color to #ADADB1. Now zoom in 1600%, hold shift, and drag your pencil tool horizontally across your canvas.

Step 3. Since these lines are inset into the surface, there will be a shadow and a highlight. Assuming that the light source is coming from the top, the highlight will be on the bottom. Set your foreground color to #E3E3E3 and drag another line directly underneat the previous one.

That is your basic inset line. Photoshop is so easy! You can play around with colors and light sources until you find something that suits you.
