Tutorial on creating a 3d text effect easily in photoshop:
1. Start your version of photoshop. Should be at least version 6.0 or up. I do not know about older versions. Make a new document. 640 by 480 is fine.
2. From fourground color choose the colour for your text. Choose the text tool and write the text you want to put a 3d effect on. Use a BIG font size, like 72 or more and a font that sorta looks kool. :)
3. Go to Layer >> Rasterize >> Type.
4. Now we will give the layer a nice zoomy type look. Go to Edit >> Free Transform tool. Hold down Ctrl, Alt, and Shift, drag one of the bottom two corners outwards, enough to seem a bit "zoomy".
3. Next, hold Alt and hit the Up arrow on your keyboard. Remember, the times you do it is the same amount of depth you're going to end up on your 3D text.
4. Now you have play with the photoshop blending option of the 3d text layer you just created. Your imagination is the limit here. Just to demonstrate, use the Sunset Sky(text) preset blending and behold how beautifully 3dish it looks!
5. You are done. Do whatever you wish to do with it.
