Simple but effective design. I think, the website design and colors matches the theme of the site. Makes me feel depressed and wanting to help those girls. (i don't have any money). I think, you can split some pages into more individual pages. There are too long texts in some pages. The news section is not updated at all. I like the black and white graphics. They go well with the website theme. Credits must be given to the photographer too. The font choice is good too.

But you must post a tutorial on how you did that rollover image. It looks like to be CSS trick. Can we get the codes please?

Maybe it is just me. But the website looks too simple and monocolored. Can you not use some more colors in there to brighten things up and get more color contrast? The theme is very good to work on. Serious and it has tons of potential to do many things with it.

Hi dude,

Thanks for the positive feedback. The way I made the CSS rollover effect was using two images and the following CSS code:

Code:
.main-nav a, .main-nav a:visited {
   background: #333333 url(images/linkbg.jpg) repeat-y;
   width: 140px;
   text-align: left;
   display: block;
   font-size: 11px;
   font-weight: normal;
   margin-left: 5px;
   text-decoration: none;
   padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px;
   color: #ffffff;
   line-height: 100%;
}
.main-nav a:hover {
        border: none;
        text-decoration: none;
        background: #333333 url(images/b.jpg) repeat-y;
        color:#000000;
      }

You see I assigned a Block element for the navigation links with background image as one of the properties. The image changes when the mouse hovers over it. Then in the main html page just wrap up the whole navigation links with a div tag like this,

<div class="main-nav">

It's actually pretty simple.

emm,

I note your suggestion and think about. May be I will do something to make it more colorful. Thanks.

I don't agree with emm. The site is cool as black & white. Too simple...that's the beautiy of it. But I don't support those thick line under the heading. Can you think to put something else or take it out. I think if you take it out it will really look cool.

-DK.

Going back and giving the website a second look...I think, maybe DK is right.

I would ask your suggestions seriously and ask what specifically is wrong here. But it's just funny, when you say that in Kiddy lingo. lol.

Anyways, that site done three years ago. We even took it off yesterday because the client management has changed. Still I do not think you claim that there were invalid html tag or unoptimized images.
