How many of guys are familiar with the site?

Though now a days the site has become much commercialized, it was the place where I was initiated into the hacking newbie world. Though can't say after 5 yrs, I have become one of the 31it3s. lol. My attention has drifted from that part. Ah, I remember printing the whole 400 or so pages of GTMHH(guide to mostly harmless hacking) in the computer lab of university of saskatchewan. Those were the days! sigh. :(

But anyone interested in knowing and reading about the fancy part of hacking, can read a good novel from the site for free, "Heretic". Light, easy, and interesting reading. Also there are still countless free tips for the newbies.

Yes you're right. That site was really cool though it has changed it's nature in last few years. Right now I like to use closed website of Hackers. But in order to get into it you've to prove yourself
At one point I like to state that what they says about tips & tricks are kind of old. Not upto date tech. For newbies it's good...not that good...I warn windows is not the platform if you're thinking about networking hacking. And they mostly focus on windows. I section I recommend is programming section for Linux, that's good start.

www.tldp.org, you can use this site if you want to go more deep(ofcourse *NIX).

Happy Hacking.

Yes, DK, I know those tips are kinda old and mostly windows based. But could still be exciting for the uninitiated. Your url is unreachable. Address alright?

Well guys I wud like to recommend this forum for people interested in hacking: [http://www.ccpowerforums.com]

This is the site of the reknowned hacker GSD. Not really a site with guides on how to hack. But a lot of useful info spread around. One jus has to look for it. Most members are friendly and are willing to help.

Tushan.

We at HappyHacker haven't changed so much over the years. Our new book - 2nd edition of UberHacker is out. Also, we are helping the community through the mailing lists.

However, if you have any suggestion on how we can improve further, let me know.

Cheers,
Tanvir.

Interesting. I haven't been to the site for a long time. The gtmhh that I downloaded back then contained info on how to change one's windows 95 shutdown screen. Lol. That is hacking too I guess.

Almost any hacking is manipulating the defaults of an OS. :)

But to say that gtmhh was nothing more than a tip to change a sgut down screen is a downright underestimation. As far as I remember, it was more than 400 pages that also contained basics of networking, unix command, email header explanation etc. etc. Nobody ever claimed gtmhh was meant to be for anyone more than a newbie. Caroline frequently mentioned this on every page. And for the newbies it provides a fluently written introduction.
