Hmm! Nice offer. I like to post few view regarding www.orkut.com. I'm a long time member of orkut but it didn't pick as everybody expected and also it's service is really poor in contrast of google search engine. I don't know is there any hidden agenda. Just like today while I was trying to get in, it was saying serivce is not available. Server side problem. Another example was in April. That problem lasted 1 month. If anybody send any invitation it doesn't reach to the destination. So, that also doesn't match google charecteristic. Another thing is that they're building the services with .NET. Hmmm....that's quite interesting. I wanna see that....That will be really interesting for *NIX lovers. By the way, in case if you're offering any gmail account let me know. As I see people are selling gmail accounts in e-bay from $0.45 to $2.00. That's funny. Or is it just an alternative business by google . If you're active "bloger" then google offers gmail account for free.

Yes I also saw it, google talkes about so much privacy, as they are affflited to orkut and if they use user's info from there then they are just starting business.(:

Orkut is boring these days as DK would concur with me. IMO, it was more of a google atempt to build a rich user database than social service. With billions of users hitting google each day, google had no knowledge of the whatabouts of the users. Those long forms you have to fill up when you sign up for Orkut, supports this theory. It was trying to build an authenticate user database then may be match it against the google searchers? Who knows. I don't mind this though. For the services it provide what's wrong with gathering some info on me? I would rather like targetted advertising than random hits. A better user database could help google with that.
