Post subject: How to make flash elastic effects? |
|
|
Does anyone know how they make those elastic like effects in Flash? Like a box comes from behind and grows in size. But the animation is very smooth and it's like growing with an elastic effect. As if something was pulling it back makes it bit smaller before it grows back. I hope I made myself clear! I cannot remember of any flash website as an example now. I will post if I can remember. _________________ “You might say reality is the result of complex negotiations between the observer and the observed. But that is simply a point of view…”

It can be made easily with shape twin with ease in and ease out and ofcourse do some motion twin trick too. That means all these three tricks you have to apply together for the elastic effect. _________________ Just Fly With Your Dreams!!!

Since motion tween and shape tween do not go together, I think, this needs a little explanation. I guess what he means is you give your object ( a rectangle?) a tiny bit of shape tween with a high ease in effect. The ease in or ease out effect is on the properties panel when you select the keyframe where the tween begins from. Then convert the whole shape tween into a movie clip. Then give the movie clip a motion tween that would change the size of the rectangle. I am not sure. But this might work. The usual way the elastic effects are done is through little bit complex action scripting. _________________

That helps. I will try the technique as you guys said. Can anyone post some sample action script code on how the elastic effects are done, please? Thanks. _________________ “You might say reality is the result of complex negotiations between the observer and the observed. But that is simply a point of view…”

can someone actually give me a hint on how thie script goes? or is there a tute that deals with this? i dont really want to use tweening because it makes the file size larger and also makes the animation slower |

Hi buzzboy,
It'd be quite difficult and lengthy to try to explain the effect. Instead let me give you an example of a true elastic effect with action scripting. I don't know who made it, but I got it from someone else. I hope that clears your notion little bit.

hmm...I am pretty busy right now, or I would give it a try. On the surface, it seems to be quite difficult to have a straight line move back and forth. Too many points to deal with, if it has to be smooth! I will post if I get any idea. I doubt it though. _________________

Hi Buzzby,
I think, I got another flash example that does exactly what you want. An elastic effect for a single line. Check it out:
