Accounting schema for small organization

Hi all,

I'm making a total accounting solution for small firms in Bangladesh which will be available under GNU license. Everybody can use and copy it. It's nothing to make money. Let's elivate BD business system. There are few open source accounting system online but none fit for our country. So, I like experts to contribute. It's open please put your suggestions, what's to include..what's not. So, we can make a database in access which will fit all small business organization and front end will be VB. I'm open to any suggestion.

That's a great step forward DK. I ain't no VB expert but I will try to be of help in any way I can. Are you considering making it network based or even internet enabled somehow? I was thinking, if you want it open source, then why not use PHP. You know you can use php to build stand alone programs these days. Things will be harder than VB, to build the interface. But that'd be something new to learn. You may wish to consider this possibility.

Well, let us see what you have in mind. We will need some documentations and other papers to research. Like chart of accounts etc. Anyone has any background on this?

If you truly wanna go ahead with the project, I will start a new forum called Open source projects. I am sure there will be people to help us.

Due few reason I'm really pissed off by few IT experts or so called account experts who hold this software environment as part of their own family thingy. So, I've decided to work on it user GNU license. I'm damn serious about. Let's build it and give it to the people. If anybody has any query regarding GNU. Yes thank you quantum for your offer. Yes that will be great if you can provide places for this project. Currently, I'm not thinking about front-end of database application. Right now, I like to concentrate on accounting schema for small organization, though we have keep in mind a medium organization will be able to use in future.

If you can offer a place then we must make few guidelines about design and specification. We can take help from other GNU projects from sourceforge or freshmeat.

So, any comments will be appriciable.

Quantum I like to inform you that I talked about this with few other programmers who can work for free and also I'm looking for an accountant expert who really like to contribute. I'm talking with one of my friend who is working as accoutant in Syndey, who will be able to offer us some guide when we will start working on project designing.
So, first of all we need to have a need assesment for those small & medium business organization. As soon as we from the project formally we can start working on. Please, think about it and response as soon as possible.

That's very nice DK. I will open up a new forum, where we can discuss on how to proceed with this thing and solve the problems step by step. But I think, you should ask them to join the forum so that we can start.
