Avecho has offered $18,056 (10,000 pounds) to anyone who can sneak a virus past its GlassWall product, and it has even opened up the challenge to its developers.

"Lots of people have already tried to do this," said Mark Elliott, vice president of international marketing for Avecho. "I think this is something we are able to do. The only condition is that people must be willing for us to publicize their failure as well as their success."

Also, A Korean company is offering $100,000 in a 48-hour hacking competition, to be run this week.

Korea Digital Works (KDWorks) will launch the competition, which will involve gaining root access to a server, on April 16 at 11 a.m. Korean Standard Time.

The competition is aimed at demonstrating the resilience of KDWorks' World OK Security (WOKS) solution, according to Justin Kim, an attorney with U.S.-based Mike Choi International Consulting, who is helping to promote the event.

That is a very good news for many hackers or wanna be hackers. If anyone wants to show off his hacking skills the legal way, this is his chance.

Yeah. This trick is also used by many security firms to pick up talents in networking. Btw, have you heard of that boy who were offered a network security job for releasing the infamous sasser virus? Who needs to go to school anymore? Just write a deadly virus and you got a career. lol.

Umm...is that so? I always found it the other way around. I don't see how something could be more tortourous than to sit on a bench and listen to the stupid stuffs the teachers/professors have to say.

Yes, We can all say basically for BSC in computer science, no one actually learn prpgramming from the staff you lean from Schools. I have seen many people have passed BSC carrying 3.5+ GPA but afraid of coding, and in real life thay took the job for marketing/business related. And also seen people failing cources but know programming staff vary well.
