Post Post subject: How to recover bad sectors of hard drive Reply with quote

Sometimes it happens that I cannot delete a file for some reason. Whenever I try to delete it, it says some program is using it. I swear to god that no program is using that file. I checked with the task manager too. I think, it may be because of a bad sector in the hard disk. You guys ever had the problem? Anyway, how to recover a bad sector in HDD. What tools to use, and how can i do it on XP.

restart your pc in Safe mode and delete it. if its not work then install recovery console and delete it.

Want is the relation with this problem with HDD bad sector.

If bad sector is logical then use partition magic to recover bad sector. Note: partition magic is basically for partitioning your Hdd with easyest way.

"recover a bad sector in HDD. " or "repair a bad sector in HDD. " or "recover data from bad sector in HDD. "

Follow what Hasnut says. But here is a good program that you may want to use for many harddisk related tasks.

HDD Scan and Restoration Program 3.0

In my opinion...If you have the ability to backup your data to another hard disk then run (tdclear) software on your hard drive from boot and clean your hard drive. It will remove your all logical bad sector on your drive and if found any physical bad sector it will mark with unreadable sector and you can use it as new and no more bad sector again. This software can be found on several site by GOOGLE search engine...and if you have not the ability to backup your data then... use Hard Disk Regenerator found on HDD Regenerator...hope this will solve your problem...cause these two software is the most powerful software in the world.

Quote:
HDD Regenerator 1.41... $38.75

Ability to detect physical bad sectors on a hard disk drive surface

Ability to recover physical bad sectors (magnetic errors) on a hard disk surface

Ability to create bootable regenerating diskette to start the regenerating process under DOS (the option is supported by Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/2003). The diskette can be used if you cannot start the regenerating process directly under Windows or if you cannot boot your computer to Windows (no operating system is installed on your computer or the operating system is damaged)

Ability to start the regenerating process directly under Windows (the option is supported by Windows 95/98/ME)

Hard disk drive is an integral part of every computer. It stores all your information. One of the most prevalent defects of hard drives are bad sectors on the disk surface. Bad sectors are a part of the disk surface which contains not readable, but frequently necessary information. If your hard drive is damaged by bad sectors, it is not only becomes unfit for use, but also you risk losing information stored on it.

If you suspect that your hard disk drive is damaged and contains bad sectors, you have difficulties to copy data from your disk, your operating system is unstable or you unable to boot to Windows altogether - don?t rush to throw out your disk and don?t think that your important information is irretrievably lost. Take advantage of HDD Regenerator - the unique program for regeneration of hard disk drives. HDD Regenerator will regenerate your hard drive by magnetic reversal. As a result, not readable damaged information will be restored. With all this going on, the existing information will not be lost!

HDD Regenerator regenerates hard disk drives exclusively at physical level. It ignores file system and can be used with FAT, NTFS or any other file system, and also with unformatted or unpartitioned disks. During regeneration, the disk structure is not changed and the existing data is not affected.

Download free demo version and try to regenerate the first found bad sector . The main purpose of the unregistered demo version is to display the report which contains information about the possibility to regenerate the entire disk by means of the registered full version. If the first found bad sector has been successfully regenerated , then you can use the registered version to regenerate all bad sectors on your hard drive. If the first bad sector has not been successfully regenerated, then replace your hard disk drive as soon as possible.

Note HDD Regenerator does not change the logical structure of a hard disk drive. Therefore the file system may contain logical bad sectors marked earlier, and other disk utilities such as Scandisk will detect bad sectors even if the hard drive is successfully regenerated by HDD Regenerator. To remove non-existent bad sectors from the file table, repartition your hard disk drive or use PowerQuest PartitionMagic (Bad Sector Retest option)
