But you both don't specify why you like this? I think if you people made your opinion here..then other people can get help from here and made opinion there too.

I normally keep my antivirus turned off. Which I know is rather surprising. Instead I try to be as careful as possible aboout running unknown files in my computer. That works great for me. So far had not had any grave virus attack. I run a firewall though.

But there is a risk..when you purchased a CD or use internet..and when your browser redirect to an unknown sites. And ofcourse sometimes we visit some unauthorised site and there is many trojans.

I know it is somewhat risky. But I can't stand those antivirus. Seems like a memory hog to me. I use firefox to visit questionable sites. That reduces the risk little bit I hope. And run a thorough scan once a week.

What antivirus you recommend? Which is light on memory and very unobtrusive?

Yeap. Lavasoft is kool for adwares, browser hi jackers and spywares. They did a lovely job with the interface. Another very very good utility for troubleshooting browser hijackers is HIJACK THIS. It can help you detect any spywares/adwares running on your system that can escape lavasoft or any antivirus.

But with Lavasoft..you are not 100% secure from adware or spyware...if you use this..then you have to use Spybot Search&Detroy too...cause both find the file that other can't...And I have read several articles about this...Just download the freeware spybot and check my truth.

I'm using Norton Antivirus 2004 In My PC and on the other PC I use 2005..but I have read some articles about..Kaspersky Antivirus..which engine is good than any other antivirus and it will not let you download a infected files from net..when other antivirus first let dowload then alerts.

I use Norton for malicious scripts blocking...cause If any malicious scripts run on your system..you have to must format your PC for the full satisfaction. Norton can detect before it runs.

Kaspersky is a heavy duty antivirus for the corporates..though we are not known to this software..It has huge supports in Europe. It is Russian.
Check www.kaspersky.com

I have used it and seems to be very effective than Norton, Pc-Cillin and Mcafee too...But Cannot registered it and after the trial priod..I have installed Norton again. Hope I will register it soon.
