How to launch a help file or .chm or .exe from Java

Hi Mr. Belal,

DK says that you are god(oops...sorry good) in java. So please help me by telling me how to launch a help file from a java application?

from java any executable file can be launched

use getRuntime().exec() method

pass any executable file as parameter

there are quite a few overloaded exec() method in the Runtime class

try out one which is suitable for u

yes, u have to use the getRuntime().exec() method.
but if u like to execute and executable file (.exe) file then if u just right the file name with its path in the exec() method as string parameter, it will execute the file. to run a help file u have to write --

getRuntime().exec("hh.exe myhelpfile.chm");

here, myhelpfile.chm is the file name of ur help file. u can replace it with ur help file name.
