What you people think are the best photoshop plug ins available? Why are they best or useful? Where to download those plug ins? What plug ins you use most?

OK let me start then. I have used the KPT Power tools from corel little and I really liked it. It is very fun to use. It is easy too. But not free. I liked the KPT lightning very much. Easy to add a ray effect. The other tools that came bundled with it were:

Quote:
KPT® Fluid™ – treat your entire image as a fluid to create and animate a variety of distortions, including controlling the thickness of the liquid and the size and speed of the brush stroke

KPT® FraxFlame II™ – create stunning fractals such as crystal clouds, with an improved rendering engine and increased navigational control

KPT® Gel™ – use realistic 3D paint tools to synthesize photo-realistic materials, and apply lighting, reflection, refraction and transparency

KPT® Goo – smear, smudge, twirl, pinch or "finger-paint" an image to produce stunning liquid distortion effects or short animations

KPT® Ink Dropper™ – add drops of liquid to a surface to create everything from water spots to smoky swirls

KPT® Lightning™ – customize and create realistic lightning effects by controlling every aspect of the bolt and path, including its color, the number of forks, and attractor and generator points

KPT® Materializer™ – create dynamic surface textures using bump maps and advanced controls, or "bend" an image over the contours of a surface texture

KPT® Scatter™ – import a particle or grid of particles and scatter them over your original image to create complex patterns and textures. Control how the particles fall – in a grid, in spirals or at random – customize their density, size and opacity, and change the hue, luminance and saturation of their color

KPT® ShapeShifter™ – create limitless shapes and objects with refracting glass edges, 3D light sources on beveled metallic surfaces, curved and lit Web buttons, UI gadgets and text
Plus!
KPT® Blurrr™
KPT® Channel Surfing™
KPT® Equalizer™
KPT® FiberOptix™
KPT® Frax4D™
KPT® FraxPlorer™
KPT® Gradient Lab™
KPT® Hyper Tiling™
KPT® LensFlare™
KPT® Noize™
KPT® Projector™
KPT® Pyramid Paint™
KPT® RadWarp™
KPT® Reaction™
KPT® Turbulence™

Never go with any plugins cause they will decrease your immagination. Try with photoshop built-in layer style and lighting effects...and they are the worlds most powerfull tools ever.

You are right hasnatme. But what about people like me who don't have much imagination but still wants to be a graphics artist? Besides, they sometimes give you short cut ways to do things too!

Post Post subject: Graphics works Reply with quote

That sounds like a full time job, if I want to be a graphics artist. Right now that is too much for me, on top of everything that I have to do anyway! I think, for now I will stick with my plug ins. May be, later I will try to spend all my days and nights dreaming about graphics. Is there any website where I can see your graphics works?

I totally agree with Hasnat and also agree with Dude partly. Yes, it is of course, better if you try to create something from the scatch using the basic photoshop tools. It gives you flexibility. You have to explore and so you learn many new things while playing with the photoshop tools. It also keeps your options open so you don't end up with your graphics looking like something readymade, preset, and like so many others'.

On the other hand, there are some things that are just not worth going through all the trouble to create from the scratch. I greatly like the Lunar cell plug in from Flaming Pear. And I know that it'd take me days to create something even close to planets created with Lunar Cell in a minute. And it's just not worth it. IMO use plug ins at your own discertion.
